Origins and Growth
intellivate was first founded in 1995 by Thomas Röhrig as "ergo EDV-Unternehmensberatung GmbH" in the North Rhine Westphalian town of Arnsberg-Neheim. A CAD expert, he had already identified early on the necessity for an integrated approach to product data management and developed an innovative and excellent software solution for this gap in the market, which from then on was to be logically further developed: OpenEDM.
A short time after its founding, Kerstin Pahlke, a specialist for SAP®, joined ergo and greatly widened the spectrum of the still young company. Thus shortly after its founding, the focal areas of activity were already the areas that still today constitute its core competences - software development for product data management, training and support for CAD/CAM systems as well as consulting in SAP®© 1) R/2 and R/3.
The high quality standard, which until today has been a central element of intellivate's company philosophy, resulted in its fast establishment on the market and high satisfaction on the part of its steadily increasing number of customers. This has provided for continuous growth: By the end of the last decade, the Pahlke und Röhrig "duo" had become a company with seven employees.
ergo becomes intellivate
On the basis of great success on the German market, shortly before the turn of the century it was decided to also become internationally active: In addition to a consulting subsidiary, the company Pahlke und Partner was founded in Phoenix, Arizona. In this manner intellivate gained intensive international project experience in the US as well as Western and Eastern Europe. Today intellivate consistently contributes this experience to its customer projects–the internationalisation of business processes now constitutes one of its most important fields of competence.
In 2001 the company took its steady growth and international development into account also in terms of its location. The headquarters were moved to Hamburg, the metropolis on the Alster, not least to ensure even greater physical proximity to its customers. It was also decided to change the name so as to lay even more emphasis on transformation and growth. Since then the name intellivate has represented the company's two central characteristic features: Intelligent solutions and a high degree of motivation to offer customers the best possible individual consulting.

Also in the following years growth has continued. Today intellivate employs approximately twenty staff plus freelancer and is highly successful at what has been the focus of its attention since the company was founded and will continue to be its focus in the future - offering its customers tailor-made solutions and providing them with perfect support.
